A 38-year-old man who was found guilty of stabbing a relative in their Middletown home in 2023 has been sentenced to 15 years in prison, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Tuesday.

It’s official. They’re committed — on the field and in the college classroom.
These courts are made for basketball — and jokesters. Maybe not. But, a couple of Rumson’s Forrestdale guys somehow stole center court, or stage, at a basketball game in the 1970s.

NJ State Police detectives are seeking the public’s assistance to determine the cause of a Friday fatal hit-and-run motor vehicle crash in Middletown on the Garden State Parkway.
The crash background …
On Friday, Feb. 14, at 5:58 p.m., a Honda Pilot was traveling southbound on the Garden State Parkway express lanes near milepost 112.8. While the vehicle was in motion, its front-seat passenger got out of the vehicle and was struck by multiple unknown vehicles that failed to stop at the scene.
As a result of the crash, that passenger, Jose Cerda-Estevez, 33, of Plainfield, was killed.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the events prior to or following the crash is asked to contact Troop “D” Holmdel Station – Detective Bureau at 732-441-4500 ext. 7417. Anonymous tips are welcome.
Former longtime Rumsonite and Little Silver resident, Eileen Anne Gannon Kenney passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her beloved family, on Feb. 12. She was 87.
Longtime area sports writer, native Red Bank resident and Red Bank Catholic High School (RBC) graduate, Jim Hintelmann, passed away peacefully on Feb. 7. He was 86.
