
Former longtime Rumsonite, Jeanne McGregor, passed away peacefully at her more recent home in Oceanport on July 16. She was 97.

“A native of East Orange, Jeanne moved to Rumson, where she lived for 40 years as a loving and devoted mother of five. When her children were grown, she moved to Florida, where she lived for 15 years. In 2002, Jeanne returned to New Jersey and settled in Oceanport.

“She was a member of St. Dorothea’s Church, where she sang in the choir for several years. She enjoyed playing tennis, playing cards with the Oceanport seniors, and taking bus trips to Atlantic City. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and was adored by her grandchildren.”
Jeanne is survived by: her children, Scott, Tracy, Alison, and Robin; her brother, Paul Ronan, of California; her grandchildren, Megan, Ashley, Andrew, Natalie, and TJ; and 22 nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by: her daughter, Laurie; and her grandson, Ian.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank, NJ 07701. A mass of christian burial will be held on Thursday, July 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Dorothea’s Church, 240 Broad St., Eatontown, NJ 07724. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
