Reprise … in honor of the best of National Night Out times …

Every year there’s a Fair Haven National Night Out. It’s a night, celebrated on the national level, designed to familiarize residents, from kids to seniors, with police and other emergency responders in town. That Night Out is Tuesday night, tonight, in the borough.

There are games, demonstrations, looks at emergency equipment, food, smiles and handshakes — and a dunk tank.

Longtime former Rumsonite Renee Swartz was recently (on July 19), and quite literally, booked at an event honoring her work with Monmouth County Library System since 1960 and, mostly, her retirement from her work since 2001 as founder and chair of the NJ Center for the Book at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank.
