“Push ’em back. Push ’em back … waaaayyyy back!” We’re not talking football with that. We’re talking the year of that kind of cheer and its leaders — the RFH cheerleaders of the early 1970s.

Well, the time has come for yet more RFH classes to have big number reunions this weekend. They would be the RFH classes of ‘80 and ‘75, celebrating their 45th and 50th, respectively. Talk about big ones … Wow!
But, you know, there was always a first … The RFH Class of ’78, pictured here at their first (the 10th) is now headed toward its own 50th. But that first is one that’s never forgotten, mostly because there was still a lot of youthful partying energy, and, sadly now, more classmates still with us. It’s a real milestone.
For the Class of ’78, that was in 1988. So, to the Class of ’82 from the Class of ’78, I think I speak for all of us reunion professionals when I say “Cheers to reuniting!”
We’ll let you know on Monday what antics transpired at the ‘75 and ‘80 reunions. In the meantime, take another look back at the RFH Class of ’78’s first at the Molly Pitcher Inn in August of ’88.
This table was up and away with a little purple balloon, it appears. These reuniting folks are still friends! Are you?
So, Cheers to those big reunions! Report back!

Retro Rumson School Time Scowlers

School photo
Something went awry when the photographer gave the “Cheese!” cue to this motley crew of 1960s Rumson kindergarteners. It looks like they got a whiff of Limburger rather than Nufatchel to fuel their scowling little grimaces.

Reprise in honor of Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair week and what used to be called Firemen’s Night, now Emergency Responders’ Night, which was last night …
Well, the fair is on and nothing has stopped it yet.
A tradition within the fair tradition is Firemen’s Night. Fire departments from across the state flock to the fair, most with reps riding into town on their towns’ fire trucks. It happens annually on Wednesday night of the Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair.
So, the Retro Pic of the Day offers a glimpse into Firemen’s Night 10 years ago, in 2015, with a photo of guys and gals from the neighboring Rumson Fire Department.
A big thank you to all our volunteer firefighters!
Recognize anyone in this crew? Have you thanked a firefighter today?
