A 38-year-old man who was found guilty of stabbing a relative in their Middletown home in 2023 has been sentenced to 15 years in prison, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Tuesday.

NJ State Police detectives are seeking the public’s assistance to determine the cause of a Friday fatal hit-and-run motor vehicle crash in Middletown on the Garden State Parkway.

On Friday, Feb. 14, at 5:58 p.m., a Honda Pilot was traveling southbound on the Garden State Parkway express lanes near milepost 112.8. While the vehicle was in motion, its front-seat passenger got out of the vehicle and was struck by multiple unknown vehicles that failed to stop at the scene.
As a result of the crash, that passenger, Jose Cerda-Estevez, 33, of Plainfield, was killed.
