Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of summer are upon us; and, Monmouth County authorities are being proactive about sober driving as the DWI Task Force, in cooperation with local police, plans two weekend DWI checkpoints starting tonight, the Monmouth County DWI Task Force announced.

DWI Checkpoint Set for Night Before Thanksgiving

The night before Thanksgiving has always been known as the biggest party night of the year. It’s been referred to as Drinksgiving, Blackout Wednesday and Black Wednesday.

Characteristically, people are coming home for the holiday, reuniting and celebrating. And the Monmouth County DWI Task Force is, again, advising designated drivers and ride shares if people choose to partake. The Task Force also has a DWI Checkpoint set for Wednesday night through early Thanksgiving morning.

These DWI checkpoints are publicized in accordance with the law.

Friday Night Before Halloween DWI Checkpoint

Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year. That in mind, parties usually fall on the weekend before. And, the Monmouth County DWI Task Force, in conjunction with local police, will be conducting a DWI checkpoint starting tonight and running into early Saturday morning.
