During the month of August, Middletown police answered 4,604 calls, among which were 366 first aid calls, 34 fire calls, 194 accidents, and 17 domestic violence. Eight arrests were made solely on outstanding contempt of court warrants. No dates for each arrest were included in this police report. Shoplifting (with no merchandise value included by police) and contempt of court arrests were excluded. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.
