The major alert for waterborne travel is that the full channel closure is in effect this week through Friday; and, there will be temporary traffic shifts in Sea Bright.
Longtime Rumsonite and Red Bank resident, Charles Edward Schafer III, lovingly known as “Chic,” passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Rumsonite Leo Sugg Jr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, “after a lifetime filled with love, dedication, and quiet strength.” He was 58.

The upcoming channel closure in the Shrewsbury River has been postponed to Monday, Sept. 16, starting at 6 a.m..
