With advent of spring, RFH Rowing and RFH Varsity Crew activity has sprouted.
The “competitive scholastic high school” crew program, sponsored by Rumson and Fair Haven boroughs, launched some of its seasonal start-up at its Victory Park home base in Rumson on Tuesday.

The sun was out on Monday and so were the kids at Victory Park in Rumson.
As the temperature hit near 70 degrees, the mood escalated along with it.

After being posthumously promoted from Fair Haven Police Department Special Officer Class II to Patrolman at his wake on Friday night, the final radio call for Robert J. Henne, badge # 37, was made. And his new badge number was retired.
The patrolman was laid to rest on Saturday. The sunset that chilly night at the Fair Haven Dock in Henne’s hometown was as warm and serene as the smile of the officer etched in the memory of so many. RIP, Patrolman Henne.
A memorial tribute to Robert J. Henne will follow.

There was a warm chill in the air on Saturday on the banks of the Navesink River in Rumson.
The water was still frozen from the cold snap and ducks made their way to a sunny spot on the street.
Take a look.
The snow started falling again on Saturday afternoon. And down at the Fair Haven Dock, the Navesink River had transformed into a blanket of snow against an white-out backdrop.
The scene was nothing but a big snow blanket to keep dock die-hards warm with some down-by-the-river serenity.

No sooner did the snow start to steadily fall in Fair Haven than some neighbor kids hit the sidewalks in front of their houses equipped with colorful shovels great attitudes.
The gaggle of good little guys and girls got some quality romping and “work” in before it all got too tough to handle.
Between the snowmen, snow piles and festive shovels and grins, it was evident they were next in line for snow angel duty.
Referred to by many residents as snow angels, there is a group of teens in the area who sign up to clear driveways, sidewalks and steps for senior citizens and those with disabilities in town.
Watch out for this group!

As the weather outside in the Rumson-Fair Haven area started getting frightful, the view from the banks of the Navesink River was one filled with choppy waters and a blustery dusting of snow.
It all started Monday morning. As forecasts continue to promise piles of the white stuff, it was still stable enough to get out and capture a bit of the clam before the blizzard in the afternoon.
Rumson-Fair Haven Retrospect hit the docks in Fair Haven and Rumson so people could get the picture.

Yes, today was a day of skating and a little ice hockey on Fair Haven’s McCarter Pond.
Rumson-Fair Haven Retrospect caught up with the kid we like to refer to as the junior Fair Haven mayor — sorry, Lucarelli — Carson Kirman.
Carson loves a photo opp. He’s always skating around town in one way or another.

It’s no secret that the Navesink River is a spot of solace for people who grew up in the Rumson-Fair Haven area or just have a sentimental spot for it.
No one knows that unsurpassed value better than this editor.
It was a nippy day along the river today, yet, somehow, a couple of spots still provided that usual dose of serenity.

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) grads and friends gathered once again on Saturday for the annual Grady party.
The Gradys, Mike and Kathleen, both RFH grads from Rumson and Fair Haven, respectively, have been hosting the annual reunion-like event for many years now. In addition to the touching base with the extended Grady family itself, it’s pretty much an annual guarantee that this is the place and time to catch up with RFH alumni, their spouses and friends.
Rumson-Fair Haven Retrospect caught up with RFH friends there, some dating back to kindergarten.
