Police: Several Arrested on Drug Charges, DWI, Weapons Possession

The following recent arrests were made and reported by Middletown police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• Michael Vanalstyne, 30, of Coffey Lane in the Leonardo section of Middletown, was arrested on June 8 by Patrolman Kent Thorton and charged with simple assault and criminal mischief.

He was transferred to the Keansburg Police Department for bail to be set.

• Matthew McKee, 29, of Pedee Place in Middletown, was arrested on June 9 by Patrolman Brian McGrogan and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and aggravated assault.

He was released after posting $15,000 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Susan Romo, 52, of Florence Avenue in the Leonardo section of Middletown, was arrested on June 9 by Detective Daniel Sullivan and charged with theft.

She was released pending a court date.

• Elizabeth Bernhard, 24, of Greene Road in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on June 10 by Sgt. Donald Coates and charged with unlawful possession of Xanax.

She was released pending a court date.

• Joan Cappadona, 33, of Kimberly Court in Red Bank, was arrested on June 11 by Patrolman Antonio Ciccone and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, shoplifting from the Foodtown store, and on contempt of court warrants issued by the Middletown Municipal Court.

She was held on $6,121 bail.

• Daniel Kaszak, 26, of Fairfield Avenue in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on June 10 by Patrolman Nicholas Haines and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released after posting $7,500 bail, set by Judge Richard Thomspon.

• Patti Hoverson, 27, of Park Avenue in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on June 15 by Patrolman Richard Fulham and charged with unlawful possession of various prescription medications and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was released pending a court date.

• Regina Yahara-Splain, 52,  of Shrewsbury Avenue in Highlands, was arrested on June 14 by Patrolman Raymond Sofield and charged with driving while intoxicated.

She was released pending a court date.

• Jeevan Chunni, 38, of Westminster Boulevard in Parlin,  was arrested on June 14 by Patrolman Adam Colfer and charged with obstructing the administration of law and obstructing an investigation.

He was released pending a court date.

• Wilmer Ortiz, 31, of Dalbert Street in Cateret, was arrested on June 13 by Patrolman Brady Carr and charged with driving while intoxicated.

He was released pending a court date.

• Alex Halpin, 21, of Bethany Road in Holmdel, was arrested on June 12 by Patrolman Daniel Benbrook and charged with obstructing the administration of law.

He was released pending a court date.

• Gregory Vasil, 48, of South End Avenue in Middletown, was arrested on June 13 by Patrolman Jason Andrews and charged with violation of a court order.

He was released on his own recognizance.

• Jon Siegert, 27, of Poplar Street in Keansburg, was arrested on June 15 by Patrolman Christopher Menendez and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released pending a court date.

• On June 17, Patrolman Joshua Midose arrested a 15-year-old male juvenile from Atlantic Highlands, and charged him with unlawful possession of Xanax.

He was released pending a court date.

• Nikki Monticillo, 26, of Lola Lane in Matawan, was arrested on June 17 by Patrolman Jason Troshane and charged with disorderly conduct.

He was released pending a court date.

 

Looking Back at Fair Haven Students’ Honors for 2014-15

 

Students in the Fair Haven School District achieved several distinctions in the 2014-15 school year; and, they were recognized for all by the Board of Education.

The accomplishments were all outlined in an early June ceremony by Superintendent Nelson Ribon and Knollwood School Principal Kevin Davis with a little pizza party on the side.

Retro RFH Graduation Venues

It’s a relatively new tradition for RFH to have its graduation at Monmouth University.

The venue is large. It’s where many of the high schools with larger graduating classes, by sheer virtue of population, have held graduations — mostly out of a need for more room. Middletown, which has two large public high schools, has held its graduations at Monmouth. And, before that, the PNC Bank Arts Center amphitheater in Holmdel. And some high schools have their graduations at Brookdale.

Police: Several Arrested on Assault, DWI, Marijuana Possession Charges

The following recent arrests were reported by Red Bank police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Marc Pines, 41, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 23 in the area of W. Bergen Place and charged with disorderly conduct by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Paulius Delekas, 25, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 22 in the area of Riverside Avenue and charged with simple assault by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Mary Treza, 51, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 20 in the area of Water Street and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman Shane Dengel.

Police Report Criminal Mischief, Theft

The following recent criminal incidents were reported by Red Bank police:

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred sometime between June 18 and 19 at a West Bergen Place residence. The victim reported that someone threw rocks at a parked vehicle and cracked the windshield and broke the rear driver’s side window.

Patrolman Shane Dengel took the report.

• A theft was reported to have occurred sometime between June 19 and 20 at an apartment at 50 Locust Avenue. The victim reported that someone stole his iPhone and cash from the apartment.

Patrolman Benjamin Springer took the report.

Crime Close By: Criminal Mischief, DWIs & More

The following recent criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Red Bank police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Incidents

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred on June 15 on West Street. There was a report of a window broken on the outside of a building.

Patrolman Ashon Lovick took the report.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred on June 17 at a Washington Street residence. The victim reported that someone threw a small table left out for trash at a parked vehicle and dented it.

Patrolman George Travostino took the report.

Arrests

• Noah Dubuss, 28, and Louie Magnus, 26, both of Red Bank were arrested on June 18 in the area of South Street and charged with disorderly conduct, possession of a CDS (under 50 grams of marijuana) and possession of narcotic paraphernalia by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto and Patrolman George Travostino.

• Caroline Dorsett, 42, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 17 in the area of Pearl Street and charged with harassment by Patrolman John Camarca.

• A 17-year-old male juvenile, of Middletown, was arrested on June 15 in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue and charged with possession of a CDS (under 50 grams of marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia by Patrolman Ashon Lovick.

• Marc Peterson, 30, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 13 in the area of Broad Street and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman George Travostino.

• Adam Salama, 24, of Hazlet, was arrested on June 13 in the area of Monmouth Street and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, possession of a CDS (hash oil), and possession of narcotic paraphernalia by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Courtney Rossine, 21, of Lincroft, was arrested on June 12 in the area of W. Front Street and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman Stanley Balmer.

 

A Rumson Father’s Day Car Fire

A car went up in flames at Rumson Country Club on Father’s Day; and, just about as quickly as the fire ignited, it was extinguished by first responders.

With scant details, the Rumson Police Department posted a 24-second video of the Sunday fire at about 3 p.m. and the firemen putting it out.

“Great job by The Rumson Fire Department extinguishing a vehicle fire at the Rumson Country Club,” the post said. “Happy Father’s Day from R.P.D.”

Police: Fair Haven Man Jailed on Disorderly Charge & More

The following May arrests and incidents were reported by Fair Haven police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Arrests

• Terry Williams, 57, of Fair Haven, was arrested on May 10 and charged with disorderly conduct following a field interview, reference a call for service.

Williams was unable to post bail and was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold, pending a Fair Haven Municipal Court appearance.

Sgt. Jesse Dykstra was the arresting officer.

• Tracey Lichtig, 42, of Fair Haven, was arrested on May 15 and charged with driving while suspended as a result of a previous DWI conviction.

Special Officer Class II Brooks Robinson was the arresting officer.

• Johnny Morris, 23, of Tinton Falls, was arrested by Cpl. John Waltz on May 27 on an active arrest warrant out of Fair Haven.

Morris was later released after posting bail pending a Fair Haven Municipal Court appearance.

• Veronica Carlisle, 45, of Highlands, was arrested on May 28 and charged with driving while suspended from a previous DWI conviction.

Special Officer Class II Brooks Robinson was the arresting officer.

•Marcelino Trejo, 32, Edison, was arrested on May 3 and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, speeding, refusal to submit to breath samples and driving with an open container of alcohol following a motor vehicle stop.

Sgt. Jesse Dykstra was the arresting officer. Trejo was released pending a court appearance in Fair Haven Municipal Court.

• Omar Azcona, 34, of Trenton, was arrested on May 5 by Sgt. Jesse Dykstra on an active traffic warrant out of Mt. Olive Township after a parking complaint.  Azcona posted full cash bail before his release.

Incidents

• A Battin Road resident reported on May 7 the theft of a wallet from a vehicle in her driveway.

Patrolman Eric Patton took the report.

• A Willow Street resident reported on May 7 that his son’s bicycle was stolen from the front of Knollwood School.

Patrolman Christian Hostrup took the theft report.

• A Lake Avenue resident reported on May 7 that a wallet was stolen from her vehicle.

Patrolman Christian Hostrup took the theft report.

• A Maple Avenue resident reported on May 8 that someone fraudulently used the victim’s credit card.

Detective Stephen Schneider took the fraud report.
