Crisp air, bright sun and reflections of riverfront life are all it takes to fall for the Rumson-Fair Haven area in autumn.
The scene just doesn’t get any more comforting. It seems to always reach out and embrace the local soul. And it never gets old.
Get a glimpse. Take it in.

Hundreds walked A Mourning Walk on Sunday to honor their loved ones who have passed. Rumson mom Dawn Tilton Massabni was one of them. So was her son, Georgie and a host of other Team Don’t Shock Me supporters who honored the memory of Maddy Massabni.

That’s why eighth graders in Rumson and Fair Haven alike have traditionally peppered their yearbooks with a few pages’ worth of who’s who as a kid and/or baby photos.
So, the Retro Pic of the Day honors that, taking a look back at a page out of a Forrestdale yearbook circa 1974, and begs the question “Who are those kids?”
Do you know? Take a look.
The year was 1950 and the high school back then was Rumson High School.
The Rumson High Class of 1950 graduated a handful of seniors compared to the hundreds who just did the ol’ Pomp and Circumstance stroll at Monmouth University.
This is a test. A trial measure is in place to abate seasonally high traffic volume between Rumson and Sea Bright.
The Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge, the drawbridge which spans over the Shrewsbury River, will open less frequently, on the hour only rather than every half hour, on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays this summer season. The trial begins on Friday, May 25, and will be in effect through Sept. 3.
