Our annual St. Patrick’s Day memory reprise, just because … it’s a classic scene that must be revisited …
In the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade’s aftermath, we’re looking back at the luck of the Irish and not-so-Irish at RFH and another parade — the big one. We are remembering a time when the RFH Marching Band, Twirlers and Drill Team not only marched in area St. Patrick’s Day parades, but made it to the big one in New York City. Call it an Irish step dance of sorts — the marching and entertaining sorts.
Top o’ the Irish afternoon to ya! On this St. Patrick’s Day, we are delving back into a couple of Irish connections in the area.
Drum roll, bagpipes and march … in time-step with a now 13-year Rumson tradition — the borough’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Longtime Rumsonite Diane Merrall Dey, 95, more recently of Atlantic Highlands, “received her angel wings on Saturday evening, Feb. 7. She departed peacefully at home, in the presence of her loving daughter, Merrall, while the Commendation of the Dying was invoked by Father Hank Hilton.”
