The weekend, or Sunday, to be exact, promises to be a luck of the Irish kind of time. Call it Slainte Sunday.
To start the day on Sunday, the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade marches into its 13th year starting at 1 p.m. at the intersection of Allen Street and River Road. It continues down River Road to Carton Street. The parade is a big one, lasting approximately 90 minutes.

Concerning road parade road closures, Rumson police have issued the following advisory …
On Sunday, March 8, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., West River Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from Bingham to Buena Vista Avenue.
At approximately 1:00 p.m. all of River Road, from Buena Vista Avenue to Ridge Road, will be closed during the parade and vehicular traffic must utilize Ridge Road.
Please obey signs and follow detours.
And, after the parade, from 2 to 6 p.m. the Annual Hibernian St. Patrick’s Day Parade Party will march into full gear down the road at the Columbus Club, 200 Fair Haven Rd., Fair Haven.
The party, another annual St. Pat’s tradition, will feature live music from Birmingham 6, Guinness on tap, Irish dancing, bagpipers, food and drink.
