Those are not lined up bottles of Lowenbrau in this 1980s pic, yet RFH old timers can’t help but hear the classic jingle in their minds when seeing this. “Here’s to good friends. Tonight is kinda special …” Yes. TGIF.
Like the song that topped the charts in 1975, you could have predicted that love would keep the RFH Class of ‘75 together.

Proof that there’s no place like home and awful lot of RFHers can, indeed, go home again to one another manifested in two banner-year reunions over the weekend — a 45th and a 50th.
Well, the time has come for yet more RFH classes to have big number reunions this weekend. They would be the RFH classes of ‘80 and ‘75, celebrating their 45th and 50th, respectively. Talk about big ones … Wow!
But, you know, there was always a first … The RFH Class of ’78, pictured here at their first (the 10th) is now headed toward its own 50th. But that first is one that’s never forgotten, mostly because there was still a lot of youthful partying energy, and, sadly now, more classmates still with us. It’s a real milestone.
For the Class of ’78, that was in 1988. So, to the Class of ’82 from the Class of ’78, I think I speak for all of us reunion professionals when I say “Cheers to reuniting!”
We’ll let you know on Monday what antics transpired at the ‘75 and ‘80 reunions. In the meantime, take another look back at the RFH Class of ’78’s first at the Molly Pitcher Inn in August of ’88.

With the advent of the football season comes memories of old days when the RFH Band played on with more members, but many may not recall that the football team was small.
Band was big in the 1970s. But, going back more than half a century, like back to the 1930s, when RFH was Rumson High School, the football team appeared small. There was no regional. And the population was, well, small. There were sprawling estates, farms (with a lot of asparagus growing wild) and berries aplenty for picking.
Rumson-raised Thomas “Tom” John Horn, of Atlantic Highlands, passed away on Feb. 27 at Riverview Medical Center, surrounded by those he loved most, including his cherished Aussie shepherd George. Services are now arranged.
TGIF! The simple acronym held a great deal of meaning for RFHers back in the 1980s.
