Fair Haven Police Report: DWI, Fraud, Assault, Hit & Run & More

The following incidents and arrests in the month of March were reported by the Fair Haven police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• A River Road resident reported on March 3 that an unknown person had used her name to obtain and use a PayPal credit card. A fraud report was filed by Patrolman Christian Hostrup to dispute the charges.

• Jordan Rivera, 24, Red Bank was arrested on March 5 and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and received traffic citations for reckless driving and improper passing following a traffic stop.

Lt. Joseph McGovern and Sgt. Jesse Dykstra made the arrest.

• Shane Callahan, 21, of Rumson, was issued three traffic citations on March 14 after an investigation found him to be the operator of a vehicle involved in a hit and run accident in the borough.

Callahan was issued the following citations: leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and reckless driving. S/O Brooks Robinson was the investigating officer.

• Luke Vinci, 21, of Long Branch, was arrested on March 15 and charged with simple assault stemming from a physical altercation with codefendant Shane Callahan at a Church Street address.

Vinci was processed and released pending a Fair Haven Court appearance. S/O Brooks Robinson was the arresting Officer.

• Shane Callahan, 21, of Rumson was arrested on March 15 and charged with simple assault stemming from a physical altercation with codefendant Luke Vinci at a Church Street address.

Callahan was processed and released pending a Fair Haven Court appearance. S/O Brooks Robinson was the arresting Officer.

• A Princeton Road resident reported on March 15 vandalism to her vehicle which had sustained a broken rear window. The damage was documented, nothing inside the vehicle was reported missing.

Sgt. Jesse Dykstra took the report.

• A Princeton Road resident reported on March 15 vandalism to a walkway lamp that occurred sometime during the previous evening.

• A Linden Dr. resident reported on March 16 that an unknown person had filed a fraudulent tax return in his name with the I.R.S.

Patrolman Christian Hostrup took the report.

• Scott Meller, 31, of Shrewsbury, was arrested on March 20 and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated)following a traffic stop.

Meller was also issued summonses for speeding and reckless driving. He was released pending a Fair Haven court appearance.

Patrolman William Lagrotteria was the arresting officer.

• Jessica Bellagamba, 29, of Toms River turned herself in on March 24 for an active traffic warrant out of Fair Haven in the amount of $350.

Detective Stephen Schneider was the arresting officer. Bellagamba posted full bail amount and was released.

• Nicole Shubeck, 22 , of Eatontown, was arrested on March 25 following a traffic stop for an active traffic warrant out of Shrewsbury in the amount of $240.

She was released after posting full cash bail. Patrolman Dwayne Reevey was the arresting officer.

• Jake Bevilacqua, 23, of Eatontown, was arrested on March 29 following a traffic stop for an active traffic warrant out of Woodbridge Twp in the amount of $250.

He was released after posting full cash bail. S/O Brooks Robinson was the arresting officer.

Police: Several Locals Arrested on DWI, Drug Charges & More

The following arrests were made recently by Red Bank police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• John Corley, 36, of Holmdel, was arrested on April 8 in the area of Broad Street and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated) by Lt. Errico Vescio.

• Daniel Giammarino, 23, of Middletown, was arrested on April 7 in the area of Broad Street and charged with possession of a CDS, anabolic steroids, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and possession prescription legend drugs by Patrolman Benjamin Springer.

• William Faherty, 55, of Little Silver, was arrested on April 5 in the area of Spring Street and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated) by Patrolman John Camarca.

• Craig Gangi, 46, of Rumson, was arrested on April 5 in the area of E. Front Street and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated) by Patrolman Kristin Altimari.

• Anthony Carrozza, 36, of Red Bank, was arrested on April 5 in the area of Spring Street and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated) by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Robert Blazer, 24, of Holmdel, was arrested on April 4 in the area of West Front Street and charged with simple assault by Patrolman John Camarca.

• Ketti Pecyna, 20, of the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on April 7 in the area of Broad Street and charged with possession of a CDS, under 50 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia by Patrolman Benjamin Springer.

• Jasper Tyler, 28, of Neptune, was arrested on April 6 in the area of Herbert Street and charged with possession of a CDS, under 50 grams of marijuana, and contempt of court by Patrolman Shane Dengel.

• Jose Lemus-Martinez, 19, of Red Bank, was arrested on April 6 in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest by Sgt. Joey Fields.

Rumson Police Report Burglary, Theft, Vandalism, Assault & More

The following incidents and arrests were reported by the Rumson police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Incidents

• On March 24, Special Officer Berger took a report of an altercation between juveniles at a Rumson Road address.

• There was a report on March 1 of vandalism to a mailbox at a home on Edwards Point Road.

Special Officer Class II Morse took the report.

• There was a report on March 1 of vandalism to a vehicle on Holly Street. The caller reported that the spark plugs of the vehicle were loosened.

Special Officer Class II Morse took the report.

• There was a report on March 2 of harassing phone calls being made to a West River Road business.

Patrolman Ciambrone took the report.

• An attempted wire fraud was reported on March 5 by an Edwards Point Road resident.

Patrolman Gaynor took the report.

• There was a report on March 16 of a stolen license plate from a Wardell Avenue resident.

Special Officer Class II McCurdy took the report.

• A theft of jewelry and tools was reported by a Park Avenue resident on March 17.

Patrolman Torres took the report which was turned over to Detective Christopher Isherwood for investigation.

Arrests

• Nicholas Aarseth, 24, of Sea Bright, was arrested by Patrolman Torres on March 13 and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated).

Aarseth was released pending court.

• Robert Toros, 36, of Philadelphia, PA, was arrested by Special Officer Class II Morse on March 22 and charged with simple assault.

Toros was released pending a court date. Patrolmen Gaynor and Ciambrone assisted in the arrest.

• Robert Toros, 36, of Philadelphia, PA was arrested on March 22 by Special Officer Class II Morse on a contempt of court charge.

Toros was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution. Patrolman Campanella assisted.

• Christopher McKnight, 28, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, was arrested by Special Officer Berger on March 24 on a contempt of court charge.

McKnight posted bail and was released. Lt. York assisted.

• Theresa McGroarty, 24, of Oceanport, was arrested on March 24 by Detective Christopher Isherwood and charged with receiving stolen property.

McGroarty was released on a summons pending court.

• Michael Carter, 23, of Sea Bright, was arrested on March 31 by Detective Christopher Isherwood and charged with receiving stolen property.

Carter was released on a summons pending court.

• Paul Procopio, 27, of Eatontown, was arrested on March 31 by Detective Christopher Isherwood and charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.

The following recent incidents and arrests were reported by Red Bank police:

Incidents

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred sometime between March 30 and 31 at a Monmouth Street business. The business owner reported that an unknown person or persons tampered with the locking mechanism on the front door. No entry was gained.

The following recent arrests were reported by Red Bank police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• Tara Thurber-Snyder, 34, of Bradley Beach, was arrested on March 20 in the area of Mechanic Street and charged with defiant trespass by Patrolman Ashon Lovick.

• Gilberto Cruz-Hernandez, 30, of Red Bank, was arrested on March 18 in the area of Bridge Avenue and charged with contempt of court by Sgt. Juan Sardo.

Crime, Arrests Close By: Theft, Heroin Possession & More

The following arrests and incident reports were recently reported by the Red Bank police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Incident

• An alleged Jan. 31 theft at the Red Bank Train Station was reported on March 8. The victim told police that on Jan. 31, while exiting the train, he left his backpack, containing a mini iPad, a MacBook Pro computer, computer charger and adapter and clothing. The victim said that he had initially notified NJ Transit, but nothing was ever recovered.

Arrests 

• Rahsaan Riddick, 21, of Long Branch, was arrested by Patrolman Benjamin Springer on March 10 in the area of Catherine Street and charged with resisting arrest, obstructing the administration of the law and disorderly conduct.

• Jeffrey Bogart, 40, of Red Bank, was arrested by Patrolman Sean Hauschildt on March 8 in the area of Monmouth Street and charged with: possession of heroin, a controlled dangerous substance (CDS); possession of drug paraphernalia; and resisting arrest.

• Andrew Fitzpatrick, 23, of Shrewsbury, was arrested by Sgt. David Hicks on March 8 in the area of W. Bergen Place and charged with: driving while intoxicated (DWI); possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), under 50 grams of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The following arrests were made by Middletown police between Feb. 24 and March 9. An arrest does not constitute a conviction. 

• Ryan Fisher, 34, ofHarborview Drive, Atlantic Highlands, was arrested on Feb. 25 by Detective Daniel Sullivan on a contempt of court issued by the Keansburg Municipal Court and was charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was held on $500 bail.

• Joseph Hosking, 37, of Ginger Court, Eatontown, was arrested on Feb. 26 by Patrolman Charles Higgins and charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released pending a court date.

• Connor Mahan, 20, of Forest Avenue, Middletown, was arrested on Feb. 27 by Patrolman James Beirne and charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of heroin.

He was released pending a court date.

• Elizabeth Ramirez-Rosales, 27, of Red Bank, was arrested in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue on March 3 by Patrolman Jhonatan Quispe and charged with simple assault.

• Robert Fix, 25, of Middletown, was arrested in the area of West Front Street on March 1 by Patrolman Benjamin Springer and charged with disorderly conduct.

• Joseph Pagano, 56, of Red Bank, was arrested by Patrolman Ashon Lovick on Feb. 28 in the area of Bank Street and charged with disorderly conduct.

• Michael Eng, 27, of Tinton Falls, was arrested by Patrolman Cevin Albert on Feb. 28 in the area of West Front Street and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated).

• Jeannie Spinelli, 20, of Red Bank, was arrested on Feb. 15 in the area of E. Front Street and charged with possession of a CDS, under 50 grams of marijuana, by Sgt. Juan Sardo.

• James Gorman, 46, of Asbury Park, was arrested on Feb. 14 in the area of Broad Street and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated) by Lt. Errico Vescio.

• Lori Costello, 43, of Red Bank, was arrested on a contempt of court charge on Feb. 18 by Patrolman Benjamin Springer in the area of Spring Street.

• Maximo Sanchez-Gonzalez, 19, of Red Bank, was arrested on a contempt of court charge on Feb. 18 by Patrolman Shane Dengel in the area of Leonard Street.

• Felicito Bautista-Barrios, 36, of Long Branch, was arrested on a contempt of court charge by Patrolman Thomas Doreumus on Feb. 17 in the area of Mechanic Street.

• Gregorio Rojas-Tlapanco, 35, of Red Bank, was arrested in the area of Monmouth Street on Feb. 17 and charged with hindering apprehension and contempt of court by Patrolman Jhonatan Quispe.

• Timothy Johnson, 29, of Red Bank, was arrested on a contempt of court charge on Feb. 14 by Patrolman Shane Dengel in the area of Monmouth Street.

• Genaro Escalante-Castillo, 23, of Red Bank, was arrested on a contempt of court charge on Feb. 13 by Patrolman Jorge Torres.

• Thomas Bouldin, 30, of Middletown, was arrested on a contempt of court charge on Feb. 12 in the area of Throckmorton Avenue by Patrolman David Smith.

• Michael Simonelli, 19, of Hosford Avenue in Middletown, was arrested on Jan. 26 by Patrolman Brian McGrogan and charged with  simple assault.

He was held on $2,500.00 bail with a 10 percent option.

• Albert Freeman, 49, of Maida Terrace in Middletown, was arrested on Jan. 27 by Patrolman William Rodewald and charged with terroristic threats and harassment.

He was held on $5,000 bail with a 10 percent option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Kristen Ruff, 28, of East Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, was arrested on Jan. 28, 2015 by Police Officer Stephanie Geisel and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).

She was released pending a court date.

• Bryan Greten, 25, of North Park Avenue in West Keansburg,  was arrested on Jan. 28 by Patrolman Richard Belmonte and charged with disorderly conduct.

• Darryl Pineda, 33, of West Garfield Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, was arrested on Jan. 30 by Cpl. James Keenan and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).

• Alex Bahr, age 24, of Oakes Avenue in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on Jan. 30 by Patrolman Ian May and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).

• Alissa Algarin, 48, of Portland Road in Highlands,was arrested on Feb. 1 by Patrolman Patrick Leonard and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).

She was released pending a court date.

• On Jan. 31, Patrolman Nicholas Haines arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile from Middletown and charged him with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released pending a court date.

• Morgan Mazza, 20, of Spring Garden Road in the Lincroft section of Middletown, was arrested on Feb. 1 by Patrolman John Soltysik and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).

She was released pending a court date.

• On Feb. 1, Patrolman Patrick Leonard arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile from the Belford section of Middletown and charged him with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, underage possession of alcohol and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

He was released pending a court date.

• On Feb. 1, Patrolman Patrick Leonard arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile from the Leonardo section of Middletown and charged him with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage possession of alcohol.

He was released pending a court date.

• Gregory Wolf, 50, of Fairview Drive in Middletown, was arrested on Feb. 2 by Lt. Paul Bailey and charged with driving while suspended for a driving while intoxicated offense.

He was released pending a court date.

• Alexander Giuriceo, 20, of Greenfield Way in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on Feb. 2 by Detective Keith Hirschbein and charged with receiving stolen property.

He was held on $2,500.00 bail.

• Luis Espinoza-Hernandez, 23, of Cedar Street in Red Bank, was arrested on Feb. 2 by Patrolman Michael Heaton and charged with shoplifting from the Sears store on Route 35.

He was held on $2,500 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Alfredo Flores-Oliveras, 28, of Cedar Street in Red Bank, was arrested on Feb. 2 by Patrolman Michael Heaton and charged with shoplifting from the Sears store on Route 35.

He was held on $2,500 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Mark Fusco, 49, of Bay Hill Road in the Leonardo section of Middletown, was arrested on Feb. 4 by Patrolman Michael Reuter and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).

He was released pending a court date.

• Joseph Mullally, 47, of Martins Lane in Middletown, was arrested on Feb. 4 by Patrolman Nicholas Haines and charged with simple assault and harassment.

He was held on $5,000 bail with a 10 percent option, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Doris Harris, 56, of Locust Street in Cliffwood, was arrested on Feb. 7 by Corporal Bernie Chenoweth and charged with defrauding a drug urine test.

She was held pending a court date.

• Christopher Rizzolo, 33, of Monument Street in Freehold, was arrested on Feb. 7 by Cpl. Bernie Chenoweth and charged with defrauding a drug test.

He was held pending a court date.

• James Mauro, 61, of Route 322 in Swedesboro, was arrested on Feb. 7 by Patrolman Jesse Toma and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).

He was released pending a court date.

• Alexander Green, 20, of Wesley Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, was arrested on Feb. 9 by Patrolman Brian Dilworth and charged with unlawful possession of prescription medication, theft, burglary, and credit card theft.

He was held on $122,500 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Robert Montalbano, 19, of Brandywine Lane in Colts Neck, ws arrested on Feb. 8 by Police Officer Stephanie Geisel and charged with unlawful possession of alprazolam, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.

He was held on $10,000 bail with a 10 percent option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Sean Figaro, 20, of Garfield Avenue in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on Feb. 8 by Patrolman Brady Carr and charged with simple assault.

He was released after posting $2,500 bail with a 10 percent option, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Wayne Hegel, 54, of Palmer Avenue in Middletown, was arrested on Feb. 9 by Patrolman Ryan Riffert and charged with criminal mischief and obstructing the administration of law.

He was held on $3,500 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

A Look Back at a Fair Haven Accident

As the Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair was closing up on its final night, the otherwise routine, tame evening was a bit rocked when a pedestrian was clipped by an SUV while crossing the street in the crossing lane in front of the firehouse.

Police cars quickly converged. While the young girl sustained minor injuries and was helped up and across the street, the driver of the vehicle that struck her, Rumson resident Dawn L. Capalbo, was placed under arrest and charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, according to the Fair Haven Police report.
