Native Rumsonite Phyllis Pardi passed away on Sunday, July 20. She was 98.
“Phyllis was born and raised in Rumson and went to Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (when it was Rumson High School). She was a parishioner at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church.

“She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, creating cherished memories for her family. After raising eight children, she worked at Little House early childhood center serving Riverview Medical Center hospital staff and their children, and at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Red Bank.”
Phyllis is predeceased by: her beloved husband, Carmen J. Pardi (Cubby); her son, Steven; her parents, Elizabeth and Luigi Vinci; and her brother, Nicola Vinci.
She is survived by: seven of her children, Elizabeth Fox, Mary Almestad, Joseph, Thomas, Laura Duprey, Michael and Christine; her 10 grandchildren, Brian, Scott, Ryanne, Lauren, Amanda, Samantha, Kevin, Alexandra, Douglas and Hannah; seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Louis Vinci; and her four nieces.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ, 0770. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 30 Ward Avenue, Rumson, NJ 07760. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 100 Chapel Hill Road, Middletown, New Jersey 07701. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Phyllis Pardi to Lunch Break in Red Bank.
