It was the year that Halloween wasn’t. It was 2012 and Superstorm Sandy had pummeled the Jersey Shore. It decimated Sea Bright and destroyed low lying parts of Rumson. Fair Haven was a bit war torn and powerless.

Sometimes it’s not just the spirit of the season. Sometimes we are haunted by good memories. The year was 1977. It was an RFH Halloween.
Seniors of the Class of ’78 were geared up for some ghostly fun. They gathered in the Senior Commons and paraded around, and, yes, out of the confines of the RFH campus.
Crisp air, bright sun and reflections of riverfront life are all it takes to fall for the Rumson-Fair Haven area in autumn.
The scene just doesn’t get any more comforting. It seems to always reach out and embrace the local soul. And it never gets old.

By nature, there are a lot of very theatrical things about a fun fall day at the beach with a buddy, especially when you’re an RFH student and theatrical sort.
Rumsonite Heidi Lynn Sculthorpe was known as a woman who loved the water.
She passed away on April 25, 2008; and her love of all things water-centric, family and friends was something that loved ones noted as everlasting. In fact, her obituary cited that in lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to Monmouth University’s Urban Coast Institute (UCI).
