Summer’s in full swing and DWI checkpoints are, again, set and conducted every weekend in two different spots throughout Monmouth County by the Monmouth County DWI Task Force and the corresponding town’s police. The checkpoints start on late Friday night and run through early Sunday morning. The checkpoint specifics are publicized in accordance with the law.
Friday night, July 7 …
The first checkpoint will start at 11 p.m. in Howell and run until 3 a.m. on Saturday. Vehicles traveling northbound on Route 9 will be directed into the Regal Plaza parking lot where officers will check drivers for sobriety, detecting whether or not they are driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Saturday night, July 8 …
The second checkpoint will be conducted starting in Brielle at 10 p.m. on Saturday. It will run through 2 a.m. on Sunday. Vehicles headed south on Route 71 will be diverted into the Brielle municipal parking lot near the Point Pleasant Bridge where officers will check drivers for sobriety, detecting whether or not they are driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
