It’s that night of the Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair that’s a gleaming, blaring, whirling truck-loving kid’s dream. It’s Firefighters’ Night; and it was last night at the fair.

It’s that night of the Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair that’s a gleaming, blaring, whirling truck-loving kid’s dream. It’s Firefighters’ Night; and it was last night at the fair.
All’s fair — at least for Rumson-Fair Haven area folks. It’s Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair week, after all.
Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge replacement and associated roadway construction activity remains status quo this week from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Friday, weather permitting.
Call it a Fair Haven of a community giving day.
The folks at Fair Haven Fisk AME Chapel would answer that with an “Amen!” A call for help in sprucing up the chapel that anchors much of Fair Haven’s history, more like its actual roots, was put out and the community heeded it.
It was a milestone moment met with a lot of cheers and tears. The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Class of 2024 graduated at Monmouth University, this era’s graduation venue tradition, on Friday night.

It was no performance.
When Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Performing Arts (PAS) seniors got together for a banquet recently, it was more like a very real final bow to one another for a bittersweet goodbye flush with impromptu performance and love of the arts and one another.
“Where’s your father?” my Fair Haven neighbor shouted to me from across the street some years ago a bit before Memorial Day.
“Uh, whaaat??” I answered with a chuckle. “Um, he’s in the cemetery?”

And one step toward that win is fundraising for various components of the effort. One organization that does such work with care, support, survivorship and research funding is Tackle Kids Cancer at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital.
To aid in a celebration of this organization’s efforts in fighting the kids’ cancer fight, Jamie Caulfield, a Rumson resident and trustee on the Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundation board, recently held an event at her home to highlight the group’s accomplishments.
“Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation thanks Jamie for her hospitality and for helping us spread the word about the critical work being done to fight pediatric cancer at Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health,” a released statement from Hackensack said.

Call it a case of Rumson junior high honor students honoring their environment. The beach is basically their back yard and they’re keeping it clean.
Who says you can’t go home again?
Oh, it’s been said, but clearly not by anyone who ever knew the RFH grad and famed raging skillet full of chef, author, playwright and punk rock queen of the Jews known as Rossi. Yes, that’s a mouthful of matzo ball soup with a little “L’Chaim!” on the side.
Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge construction work remains status quo, with work continuing from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. though Friday, weather permitting.
