The sun may have taken a respite from spring on Sunday, but that and a little drizzle of rain didn’t stop Rumson kids from a little tradition — the annual egg hunt at Victory Park.

Rumson resident Rosalie C. Ramsey passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 18. She was 102.

An April homecoming memorial has been set for former Rumson and Little Silver resident Dorothy Cumming Scott, of Irmo, South Carolina, who died on Feb. 10. She was 82.

Prosecutor: Former Judge in Rumson & 8 Other Towns Pleads Guilty to Falsifying Records
A former Monmouth County Municipal Court judge, who was on the bench in Rumson among other area towns, has pleaded guilty to falsifying records in connection with a scheme of fixing municipal court dispositions to benefit several municipalities where he served as a judge, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said on Friday. His plea forever disqualifies Thompson from being a municipal court judge or holding any other public employment.

The view from Hartshorne Woods of Rumson and the Oceanic at the end of a winter’s day is a soothing reminder of what a wonderful world in which we live here in the Rumson-Fair Haven area.

Focus: Getting Festive at Rumson’s Tree Lighting
It’s a tradition. Every year, Rumsonites gather, socialize, listen to some music by the Deane-Porter Third Grade Chorus and Tim McLoone & The Shirleys, dance a little, drink a little hot cocoa, nibble on some homemade cookies and celebrate the start of the holiday season with the tree lighting at Victory Park.
The tradition continued on Sunday evening. Spirits were high and all seemed to have a festive time.
