Sometimes it’s just the little things, like helping a small animal, that put a smile on a police officer’s face on a routine work day.
It’s what ended up happening on Sunday night when the Rumson Police Department “received a report of a deceased baby deer in the middle of Rumson Road,” a post on the department’s Facebook page said.
Patrolman Michael Berger and Special Officer Hughes responded to the scene where they, indeed, found a deer laying in the road. However, the deer was unharmed.
“It was released in a safe area after being moved,” the post said.
And it was a Kodak moment.
