Longtime Shrewsbury Borough resident and area doctor, Donald Noble Gill, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning surrounded by his family. He was 86.
“With his office based in Red Bank, Don felt it a gift to practice medicine and serve his community in this role. Loved for many things, a quick wit and good sense of humor among them, he was mostly known for his kindness. Don believed that hard work was important for a life well lived and he spent his caring for others. While his patients were always at the front of his mind, he was most happy spending time with his family and friends.”

Raised in Ridley Park, PA, Don was a star athlete in high school, most notably as pitcher of the baseball team. After graduating Penn State University, he attended medical school at Temple University, the same institution where his father became a dentist years earlier. It was at Temple that Don met his wife Arlene, with whom he would go on to share his life for almost 60 years.
Don’s daughters Cheryl, Amy, Allison, and Jessica ask that anyone wishing to contribute to a charity in his honor consider the Shrewsbury First Aid or the Monmouth County SPCA.
A service celebrating Don’s life will be held at Tower Hill Church in Red Bank on May 7, 2022. The family will receive guests starting at 10:30 a.m. and the service will begin at 11.
