Police: Patient Flees Hospital with Heart Monitor in Tow

The following recent criminal incidents were reported by Red Bank police:

• An incident of criminal mischief — air let out of tires on a parked vehicle Montgomery Terrace — was reported on April 24.

Patrolman Michael Zadlock took the report.

• A theft was reported to have occurred at a Tower Hill Drive residence sometime between April 23 and 25. The victim reported that someone stole cash and a pair of gold and diamond earrings from the residence.

Patrolman Shane Dengel took the report.

• A theft was reported to have occurred at Riverview (Medical Center) Plaza on April 25. Staff of the hospital reported that a patient who left from the Emergency Room took a heart monitor, valued at $3,000, and never returned.

Patrolman Benjamin Springer took the report.

• A theft was reported to have occurred at a McLaren Street residence. The victim reported that an unknown person, within the past few weeks, stole a bicycle, circular saw and Craftsman tool box with tools in it from the garage.

Police: Local Man Arrested, on Heroin Dealing, Possession Charges; $41.5K Bail

An area man is being held in jail on heroin dealing and possession charges.

Ronald Scott Newell Jr., 47, of Route 36 in the Leonardo section of Middletown, was arrested on April 28, by Middletown police officers Stephen Greenwood and Thomas Hughes of the Anti Crime Unit, and charged with: possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin within 500 feet of a public park, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe, a release from Middletown police said.

The arrest came after an investigation by Middletown police into alleged narcotics activity, police said.

Newell was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold.

Police Report: Marijuana Possession, DWIs & More

The following arrests were made between April 17 and 27 and reported by the Middletown police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• Richard Torres, 24, of Brook Forest Drive in South Toms River, was arrested on April 19 by Patrolman Richard Belmonte and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.

He was released pending a court date.

• Ronald Ahlholm, 51, of Second Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, was arrested on April 21 by Patrolman Scott Davis and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).

He was released pending a court date.

Police: Machete-Wielding Area Man Arrested, $200K Bail

An area man, who was found by police fleeing a home with a machete in hand on Thursday, is being held in jail on $200,000 bail and facing multiple charges, including burglary, weapons possession and terroristic threats.

Brian O’Herron, 29, of Seabreeze Avenue in Middletown, was arrested by Middletown police after officers Adam Colfer, Brian McGrogan and Kent Thornton responded to a burglary in progress at a Seabreeze Avenue residence, the release said.

Upon arrival, the officers were informed that O’Herron had run from the residence carrying a machete. After a search of the area, O’Herron was found by police and an investigation ensued, police said.

As a result of the investigation, O’Herron was charged with: burglary, violation of a court order, criminal restraint, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, terroristic threats, harassment and resisting arrest, police said.

O’Herron was held on $200,000 bail, set by Judge Escandon.

Police: Alleged Marijuana Dealer Busted

An area teen is facing drug dealing and possession charges.

On April 23, Robert Fiore, 18, of Walling Street in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested by Middletown police and charged with: possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana, possession with over 50 grams of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a release from Middletown police.

Police said that they were called to investigate an “occupied suspicious vehicle, a tan Mazda Protege, parked in the street with no license plates,” according to the release.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the officers reported that they found Fiore holding a bag of marijuana. Fiore was placed under arrest and police searched the vehicle.

As a result of the search, police said they found “a large bag containing more marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia.” In addition, the release said, they found Fiore to be in possession of $2,100 in cash.

The $2,100 was seized and the car was seized for forfeiture.

Fiore was released on his own recognizance.

Officers Michael Heaton and Richard Belmonte made the arrest.

Arresting News: Heroin Possession, Vehicular Assault, DWIs, Stalking & More

The following recent arrests were reported by the Middletown police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• Matthew Carscadden, 35, of Windswept Road in Holmdel, was arrested on April 6 by Patrolman Thomas Foster and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated) and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

He was held on $5,000 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Robert Kolb, 47, of Route 36 in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, was arrested on April 7 by Cpl. James Keenan and charged with simple assault.

He was held on $2,500 bail.

• On April 7, Cpl. James Keenan arrested a 15-year-old female juvenile and charged her with obstructing the administration of law.

She was released pending a court date.

Arrest

• Linda Vicinio, 50, of Freehold, was arrested on April 11 in the area of Hudson Avenue and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated) by Patrolman Stanley Balmer.

Incidents

• The theft of medication was reported on April 14 to have occurred sometime between April 3 (when the medication was last seen) and 14.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred at the Morford Place parking lot on April 11. The victims reported that an unknown person or persons scratched a parked vehicle around its entire length.

Police: Bread Thief at Large

The following recent criminal incidents were reported by the Red Bank police:

• An April 4 theft from a Broad Street restaurant was reported on April 8. The victim reported that someone stole her wallet, containing, cash and credit cards, from her purse while at the establishment.

• A recurring theft at a Maple Avenue delicatessen was reported on April 6. The owner reported that in the past two weeks an unknown person or persons in a white van has pulled up to the deli between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. and stolen bread from the bread box outside of the restaurant. The incidents were captured on video tape.

Fair Haven Police: Borough Business Burglar Nabbed, Connected to String of 30

A Freehold Borough man linked to a Fair Haven business burglary/theft has been linked to a string of more than 30 similar cases spanning Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties and is being held at Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $113,000 bail.

Isiah Casrell, 28, was arrested along with an alleged co-conspirator, Rachael Lovely, 33, of Newark, at 1:30 a.m. on April 5 in Holmdel, police said. The two were allegedly leaving the scene of a commercial burglary there when they “were spotted and stopped on State Route 34 in the area of the border of Aberdeen Township and Marlboro Township by Marlboro Township Police Officer Johnathan Gramcko,” a release said.

The Holmdel burglary was found, by a multi-jurisdictional police task force, to allegedly be one of more than 30 that occurred in the three-county span in the past few months.

Fair Haven Police Detective Stephen Schneider, a member of the task force, said he signed specific complaints against Casrell in connection with the March 19 burglary of Distinctive Toys, 595 River Road.

As a result, Casrell was charged by Fair Haven police alone with: criminal mischief, burglary and theft of movable property. His bail on the Fair Haven charges alone was set at $30,000 with no 10 percent option, set by Judge James M. Newman, according to police.

In addition to the Fair Haven burglary/theft, Casrell, Schneider said in a release, “was responsible for committing numerous commercial burglaries in the following jurisdictions: Marlboro, Howell, Aberdeen, Colts Neck, Holmdel, Ocean Township, Plumsted Township, Old Bridge, Berkeley, Upper Freehold Township, Manalapan and Shrewsbury Borough.”

Concerning the alleged burglaries throughout the three counties committed by Casrell and Lovely, detectives from Monmouth County’s Marlboro, Howell and Holmdel Township police departments charged the two with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of burglary tools, theft, burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and criminal mischief.

Attorney General: Rumson Printer Banned as Vendor of Prescription Blanks

The following is a press release from the NJ Office of the Attorney General:

The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs has terminated Rumson-based Nelson Press printing company’s authorization to act as a printer/vendor of prescription blanks.

The Division found the company’s failure to follow security requirements enabled a suspended doctor to allegedly obtain and write unauthorized prescriptions in another physician’s name for oxycodone and other potentially addictive painkillers.

The suspended doctor, Kenneth Lewandowski, of Middletown, was arrested in December 2014 by detectives from the Middletown Township Police Department working with investigators from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Division of Consumer Affairs. Lewandowski was charged with multiple counts of conspiracy, forgery, and unlawful practice of medicine, for his alleged role in running a prescription drug ring.

Police: Alleged Heroin Dealers Busted

The following arrests that occurred between March 20 and April 7 were reported by Middletown police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• Andrew Gill, 21, of Willis Avenue in Keansburg , was arrested on March 24 by Detective Keith Hirschbein and charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin within 500 feet of a public park, unlawful possession of suboxone, possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia and on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Oceanport Municipal Court and a violation of probation warrant issued by the Monmouth County Superior Court.

He was held pending a court date.

• Christopher Gill, 23, of Mercer Avenue in Hazlet, was arrested on March 24 by Detective Keith Hirschbein and charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public park, unlawful possession of suboxone, possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was held on $75,000 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported to have occurred sometime between March 30 and 31 at a Monmouth Street business. The business owner reported that an unknown person or persons tampered with the locking mechanism on the front door. No entry was gained.
