Well, they’re calling it a snow day. It seems like these days it doesn’t take much of the fluffy white stuff to blow the snow day whistle — broadcast it on social media is more like it nowadays.
Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge replacement construction activity continues this week on a status quo schedule from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Friday, weather permitting.
“I remember when my grandfather moved here way back when Rumson Road was considered one of the ‘most beautiful’ in the country,” said RFH Class of ’78 grad Monica Sheehan of what many might call a picture perfect postcard of the snowy day shot of sleighing down the driveway on the estate of the historic mansion called The Hermitage.
Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge replacement construction is back to a status quo schedule this week, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, through Friday.
Back in the day, some RFH students preferred to literally chill outside the Senior Commons rather than inside.
To them, those cool dudes, it was the perfect setting for a little pow-wow. Maybe the discussion was heated, though, right? Looks like it could have been. It is the season of reorganizations, after all. And with that dusting of snow, what better time than to chill and get that cool dudes’ hierarchy settled. Ahem …
New Year, new Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge replacement schedule? No. This week, construction activity remains at a status quo, with the usual work hours from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Friday and some things to keep in mind while work continues.
There’s a new chief in town. Well, there’s a new chief, deputy chief, assistant chiefs, lieutenants, captains, president and vice president in the Fair Haven Fire Department’s fire company, first aid squad, auxiliary and water rescue.
A reprise from December of 2023, just because as a new year comes, remembering lifelong friendships and continuing to celebrate them, even when untimely loss hits, is true auld lang syne … Cheers!
Auld Lang Syne. The lyrics of the song are all about friendship — forever friends raising a glass and toasting to the good times, adventures and misadventures they’ve shared.

These RFH guys … If there’s something to celebrate, they’re commandeering the toast — and peppering it with a little mayhem. Or a lot.
There’s no troll at the Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge, just a Spiderman Santa overseeing the replacement activity. And this New Year week, construction activity remains at a status quo, with work hours from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Friday and no activity on Wednesday, New Year’s Day.

It’s a holiday week and Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge replacement construction activity is on a status quo schedule Monday and Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with no work scheduled for Wednesday, Christmas and Hanukkah, and back to the same 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule resuming on Thursday and Friday.
