Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge replacement activity is on its status quo construction hours schedule, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., through Sunday, May 18, weather permitting, with no bridge openings for a period of time. Monmouth County officials have announced the following travel advisory information for the bridge and surrounding area. Specific construction activities are listed below the travel advisories.

On the Shrewsbury River waterway as of May 15 ...

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has approved the following schedule for bridge openings and channel width restrictions:

There will be no bridge openings through May 23.

• Both spans will be in the down position. The western half of the channel will be open for marine traffic with horizontal clearance of 37.5 feet and vertical clearance restrictions of 15 feet at Mean High Water (MHW) and 18.5 feet at Mean Low Water (MLW)

The USCG has jurisdiction over the navigational channel. USCG has granted permission for the partial closures of the channel and for the temporary deviation from normal drawbridge operations. Monmouth County must comply with the dates approved by the USCG.

On the roadways and sidewalks surrounding and on the bridge …

• Traffic pattern changes and possible travel delays continue in Sea Bright at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Rumson Road. 
• All roadway and sidewalk travelers should be aware of construction and delivery vehicles entering and exiting the work areas on both sides of Rumson Road in Rumson and on the southbound side of Ocean Avenue in Sea Bright.
• Temporary delays are possible on any contractor work day due to movement of construction vehicles and equipment.
• The south side (eastbound) sidewalk of the bridge is closed.
