After a string of rainy days of spring, otherwise just plain dank weather, the sun made a seasonal appearance on Monday and went back into hiding on Tuesday. And down came the rain — again.
The scene in Rumson and Fair Haven is finally set for a true springtime tone. But will it hold out for the unofficial start of summer through Memorial Day weekend and into Monday?
Well, the rest of the week is forecast to be bloomin’ springlike with a 50 percent threat of booming thunder and end of May showers on Memorial Day.
In the meantime, soak up a little glimpse of the springtime scene around the towns.
Here’s what the National Weather Service says:
Sunny, clear, blue skies are promised for Wednesday with temperatures reaching a high of 77 degrees. More of the same on Thursday, with temperatures reaching a high of 75.
As the weekend approaches, the forecast calls for summer-like weather, with clear skies and temperatures reaching nearly 80 degrees.
And on Saturday, it’s predicted to be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching a downright balmy 82.
But, it’s Saturday night that the rain threatens to dampen the rest of the weekend with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and a 50 percent chance of fowl weather going into Sunday morning.
More of the same on Sunday night and Monday. So, it’s 50/50 for a fair weather end to the weekend and for Memorial Day parades and remembrance gatherings.
