Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge construction work remains status quo, with the exception of major roadwork on the Rumson side this week. All construction continues on the usual 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule though Friday, weather permitting.
This week’s roadwork alert from Rumson police …
New traffic patterns for Rumson Road, South Ward and Old Rumson Road were installed on Friday, May 24, to address ongoing conditions as a result of the continuing construction of the new bridge.
Temporarily, access to Old Rumson Road, from Rumson Road, will be closed to allow for a new traffic pattern to be installed over the next two weeks. Please use South Ward for access to Waterman Avenue or St. George’s-by-the-River Episcopal Church.
Residents will also see increased pedestrian improvements, including a new crosswalk across Rumson Road.
The goal of these changes is to promote vehicular and pedestrian safety and facilitate traffic flow throughout construction zone and surrounding areas.
