The following March criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Rumson police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

Criminal Incidents
• A landscape contractor working at a home on Rumson Road reported on March 18 that while working in the back of the residence, someone had stolen a backpack blower, valued at $500, from the front lawn.
S/O Joseph Pignataro took the report.
• Officers responding to a burglar alarm at an Orchard Lane residence on March 6 discovered signs of forced entry. Further investigation revealed the home had been burglarized. Hazlet PD assisted with a K9 tracking unit.
Detective Stephanie Lehner is investigating.
Arrests
• Jose Santovena, 36, of Rumson, was arrested at a business on Bingham Avenue on March 29 and charged with criminal mischief by Ptl. Joseph Strohmenger.
• Daniel Fernandes, 25, of Rumson, was arrested in the area of Ridge Road and Avenue of Two Rivers on March 15 and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) by Sgt. Michael Berger.
• Patrick Escalante, 59, of Rumson was arrested at a business on East River Road on March 6 and charged with disorderly conduct by S/O Joseph Pignataro, after a verbal dispute with employees.
