Rumson resident Irene Adele Mansfield (née Zeidler) passed away at home on Jan. 24. She was 96.

Born on Long Island, NY, Irene graduated from Syracuse University. After marrying her husband, John Mansfield, in 1947, couple moved to Cliffside Park. There they raised their seven children.
“She was an active member of Epiphany Roman Catholic Church in Cliffside Park. Irene enjoyed cooking for her large family, playing cards with friends, caring for one of the many cats she had adopted through the years, and listening to Frank Sinatra.”
Irene is survived by: her seven children, Nancy Skiff and Gail Mansfield, both of Rumson, Kathy Barnes, of Chalfont, PA, John and his wife Jane Mansfield, of St. Louis, MO, James and his wife Blanca Mansfield, of Manhattan, NY, David Mansfield, of Queens, NY, and Robert Mansfield, of Manhattan, NY; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Her eldest grandson, Samuel Skiff, passed away in 2020.
She will be buried next to her late husband, John, in Fort Lee.
A mass of christian burial was celebrated with immediate family at Holy Cross Church in Rumson.
