Marie was “lovingly known as the ‘peacemaker’ in the family which, along with traditional social graces, endeared her to all who knew her … Not surprisingly, Marie fully enjoyed the social aspects of the Rumson Country Club and Sea Bright Beach Club, where she and her husband were long-time members. She also devoted her time serving significant tenures on the Board of Governors of each Club. Notably, Marie chaired the Bridge Committee for many years for which she was a competitive participant and advocate for the game. 

“In her leisure time, Marie savored travel opportunities with her husband and children, including attending her family reunions held every three years since 1976, where her passion for music and family was shared with everyone. Marie was also an ardent  Yankees fan and rarely missed a game, whether watching on TV, attending in person or listening to the radio as she fell asleep. She also cherished annual trips to Princeton football games, allowing her to reminisce on the early years of their marriage spent at Princeton while her husband completed his college education …

Marie received the Club Appreciation Award from the Rumson Garden Club and the prestigious Medal of Merit from the Garden Club of America citing her powerful and inspirational drive, commitment to selflessness and zeal as a long-time member and leader. Her passion for orchids and talent for nurturing them was well known among her friends and family …
