Longtime former Rumsonite, Carol Einbeck Blesse, died peacefully at her home on Aug. 2. She was 95.
Born in Weehawken, Carol grew up in West New York. She lived in Rumson for 45 years before moving to Little Silver and then Red Bank.

“Carol was a 1951 graduate of New Jersey College for Women (later Douglass College) of Rutgers University. She began her career as a cereal chemist. After taking time to be a full-time mother for her sons, she became a teacher and taught Home Economics at Long Branch High School for 22 years.

“She was an active member of St. George’s Church for 63 years, serving on Vestry and Altar Guild, teaching church school, singing in the choir, and playing the church’s carillon. She enjoyed gardening, reading, music, watching baseball, spending time at the beach and with her feline companion, Princess. She was married for 63 years to her husband, Donald, who died in 2015.”
She is survived by: her sister, Jean Vogrin, of Medford.; sons Don (Mary), of Lakewood, OH, Ken (Mary) of Turin, NY, and Paul (Susan) of Johns Creek, GA; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life and interment of her ashes will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m. at St. George’s By-The-River Church, 7 Lincoln Ave., Rumson, NJ.
