In Memoriam: Longtime Red Bank Resident & ’71 RBR Grad, Steven Alan Lang, 69

Longtime Red Bank resident, Steven Alan Lang, passed away on Feb.25 “after a courageous six-month battle with cancer.” He was 69.

“A beloved husband, father, and grandfather,” Steven grew up in Red Bank and was a Red Bank High School Class of 1971 graduate. He was a skilled master plumber, ” a career he excelled in for many years.

“Steven will be remembered as a kind, caring, and generous man who loved his family deeply. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will live on through his loved ones and all those whose lives he touched. Steven was a passionate outdoorsman and a member of the Wayside Gun Club and Central Jersey Gun Club. He had a particular love for sporting clays and enjoyed being an instructor. He was also an avid history enthusiast, a baseball fan with an affinity for the Yankees, and had a deep appreciation for classic movies. He loved nothing more than settling in with his loved ones to watch a film.”

Steven was a devoted husband to his wife of 45 years, Maureen, and a loving father to his three daughters, Colleen LaSalle, Kelly Schwerin, and Maura Carroll, and their husbands Paul LaSalle, Brett Schwerin, and Ben Carroll. He was a proud grandfather of four, Kevin LaSalle, Paulie LaSalle, Audrey Schwerin, and Mary Carroll. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. All other services are private.
