Little league is in full swing, but there are no Giants.
Back in the late 60s or early 70s, there was a whole team full. That team was led by forever Fair Havenite Bill Lang, who was laid to rest back in 2021. He was a giant of a personality and volunteer for all things Fair Haven, so the team’s name was fitting.

Let the sun shine! Bring it back! There have been some sun shiny spring days lately; but, today is an exception. The sun will return by Friday, though, because spring has really sprung. And back in the 1970s at RFH, busting out of the hallowed halls was the thing to do when the fiery orb reared its rays in the sky.
An area teen has been charged with attempted murder and related weapons charges stemming from the Thursday shooting incident in Freehold Borough, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Tuesday.
In an effort to pay homage to baseball season, these RFH baseball of a more casual kind retro pics, originally posted on April 10, 2019 are being reprised. Have you ever had a tackle strategy like this in your ball game?
Isn’t football the tackle sport? Well, that may be, but by the looks of things in this 1970s home run classic in the outfield, these RFH baseball players paid no mind to standard sports protocol. It was really all about the fun and laughs for them.
It was tea time on Sunday in Fair Haven. Rather than a day of rest, the day was full of America 250 festivity at the Smart Start Preschool venue with a good, old-fashioned tea party. Fancy that!

It’s May Day! And, back in the day, there was a dance for that — around a May Pole.
Play ball! Well, spring has arrived and RFH Baseball season has begun. And RFH players are set for a home run of a season, as usual.
Reprise! Just because … Let’s hear it for spring fever and waiting for the sun to reappear!
OK, so the spring weather outside has not been so consistently delightful lately. But, the sun has made some great cameo appearances.
So, take a look back to the 1970s when spring fever kicked in enough to get a couple of RFH guys in the mood to put those gloves on and take a little kangaroo hop outside the Junior Lounge, probably on a “free.” They were barely clad in those stylish 70s gym shorts and ready to duke it out — or at least dance around the notion.
They’re polished, alright — RFH Class of ’78 grad Doug DiStefano and his monument subject, that is.

Former Little Silver resident, Brian Paul Daneman, passed away on April 20. He was 65.
If there was ever a perfect night for a classic pre-teen sleepover, tonight might just be the night. It’s all about kid spring fever and celebrating the season with a little help from friends.

Well, it was junior prom night for RFHers last week. And, to take a look at the social media photos floating around out there is to know that the times sure have changed, starting with the prom look. The dresses. The hair. The after-prom events.
