The Christmas spirit is being awakened this weekend by lights, cameras and the sounds of sirens as Santa Claus comes to two towns via firetruck, townies get festive, trees are lit, holiday poses are struck, kid games are played and crafts are sold.
Starting on Friday evening in Fair Haven …
From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. festivities and the tree lighting will happen in Memorial Park, on the corner of Fair Haven and River roads.
Sirens blaring and lights whirling, Santa will arrive at the park via firetruck at 6 p.m.. He will greet the kids and sit to pose for photos until 7:30. Meanwhile, the traditional Holiday Stroll will happen throughout he borough, with special highlights at each business around town.

On Saturday and Sunday in Rumson …
The 4th Annual Canterbury Christmas Sale at St. George’s-by-the-River Episcopal Church, 7 Lincoln Ave., Rumson, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to noon. All proceeds will benefit St. George’s outreach programs.
Christmas decorations, jewelry, handbags, gift baskets, baked goods and more will be sold.
And on Sunday night in Rumson …
Santa, Tim McLoone & The Shirleys and those Deane-Porter and RFH Tower singers set the stage for a festive traditional night in Victory Park, at Lafayette Street and River Road, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
As usual, there will be hot chocolate and goodies, that roaming snowman and a host of holiday fun.
