Police Make Arrests on Crack, Weapons, Burglary, DWI Charges & More

The following recent arrests were made and reported by Red Bank police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• A 17-year-old  juvenile female, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, was arrested by Patrolman Thomas Doremus on Aug. 27 in the area of Newman Springs Road and charged with possession of prescription legend drugs, possession of a CDS (less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• James Williams, 30, of Red Bank, was arrested on Aug. 26 in the area of Monmouth Street and charged with possession of a CDS, cocaine, unlawful possession of a handgun, person unauthorized to have a weapon, possession of a CDS, crack cocaine, and obstructing administration of the law by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Termarca Davis, 29,  of Red Bank, was arrested on Aug. 26 in the area of Montgomery Terrace and charged with obstruction of the administration of law by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Angelo Dolce, 26, of Staten Island, NY, was arrested on Aug. 26 in the area of N. Bridge Avenue and charged with possession of a CDS, under 50 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia by Patrolman Cevin Albert.

• Michael Rascio, 40, of Belford, was arrested on Aug. 25 in the area of Monmouth Street and charged with burglary, criminal mischief and theft by Sgt. Heather Publyski.

• Theodore Knowles, 28, of Tinton Falls, was arrested on Aug. 24 in the area of Monmouth Street and charged with contempt of court by Patrolman Jorge Torres.

• Kenneth Carpenter, 51, of Red Bank, was arrested on Aug. 24 in the area of River Street and charged with resisting arrest and obstructing the administration of law by Patrolman Benjamin Springer.

• A 15-year-old male juvenile, of Tinton Falls, was arrested on Aug. 23 in the area of W. Front Street and charged with attempting to elude police, obstructing the administration of law and simple assault by Patrolman Sean Hauschildt.

• A 16-year-old male juvenile, of Red Bank, was arrested on Aug. 23 in the area of W. Front Street and charged with simple assault by Patrolman George Travostino.

• Julianna Schultz, 46, of Holmdel, was arrested on Aug. 23 in the area of Riverview Plaza and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated) by Patrolman George Travostino.

• Robert Front, 44, of Red Bank, was arrested on Aug. 23 in the area of West Street and charged with simple assault and contempt of court by Patrolman Kristin Altimari.

• Terrence Fitzpatrick, 51, of Marlboro, was arrested on Aug. 23 in the area of Riverview Plaza and charged with obstructing the administration of law by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Alexander Fiducia, 26, of Neptune, was arrested on Aug. 23 in the area of W. Front Street and charged with criminal mischief by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Tiarra Rivera, 22, of Freehold, was arrested on Aug. 23 in the area of E. Front Street and charged with disorderly conduct by Patrolman Stan Balmer.

• Gregory Barich, 47, of Monmouth Beach, was arrested on Aug. 23 in the area of Harrison Avenue and charged with simple assault by Patrolman Dawn Shields.

• Michael Allgood, 49, of Red Bank, was arrested on Aug. 22 in the area of Catherine Street and charged with disorderly conduct by Patrolman Sean Hauschildt.

• Sam Levine, 19, of Little Silver, was arrested on Aug. 21 in the area of E. Newman Springs Road and charged with attempting to purchase alcohol while being under age by Patrolman Shane Dengel.

• Barbara Reeves, 38, of Tinton Falls, was arrested on Aug. 20 in the area of Maple Avenue and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated by Patrolman Benjamin Springer.

Police: Area Teen Arrested on Attempted Sexual Assault Charges; $350K Bail

The following recent arrests were made and reported by Middletown police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• Michael Kiernan, 61, of Monmouth Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, was arrested on Aug. 13 by Patrolman Adam Colfer and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of heroin.

He was released pending a court date.

• Jeffrey Rodre, 18, of Chapman Terrace in Middletown, was arrested on Aug. 15 by Patrolman Frank Mazza and charged with simple assault.

He was released pending a court date.

• Edward Gross, 26, of Nautilus Drive in the Leonardo section of Middletown, was arrested on Aug. 13 by Detective Albert Scott and charged with shoplifting and conspiracy.

He was released after posting $2,500 bail with a 10 percent option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Paul Ortiz, 52, of Ocean Avenue in Middletown, was arrested on Aug. 12 by Patrolman Adam Colfer and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, shoplifting, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools and possession of crack cocaine.

He was held on $11,000 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

Police: Alleged Heroin Dealer Busted; $20K Bail

The following recent arrests were made and reported by Middletown police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• Gary Close, 43, of 10th Avenue in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on July 20 by Patrolman Adam Colfer and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court.

He was held on $13,000 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Jose Bonilla, 44, of Laurel Avenue in Keansburg, was arrested on July 20 by Detective Keith Hirschbein and charged with possession of heroin, possession of hypodermic syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia and loitering to obtain a controlled dangerous substance.

He was released pending a court date.

• Jonathon Hamill, 28, of Baskenridge Drive in Middletown, was arrested on July 20 by Detective Daniel Sullivan and charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringe.

He was held on $22,000 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

Rumson Police: Rumson Man Jailed Over Two July Assaults, Robbery

The robbery and assault of a cab driver in Rumson early Friday morning ended in a Rumson man being held in jail over that and another alleged assault incident earlier in the month on a total of $150,000 bail, Rumson police said on Monday.

Phillip Sturner, 30, of Rumson, was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery, simple assault (DP), and theft of services (DP) for the July 17 incident.

He was also charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and false imprisonment in stemming from a July 5 incident that had been under investigation in which he allegedly assaulted two victims at his residence.

Bail was set, by Judge Honora Kilgallen J.S.C., at $50,000 for the July 17 incident and $100,000 for the July 5 incident, police reported.

In connection with the July 17 incident, another alleged perpetrator in the assault and robbery of the cabbie, Christopher Sutphen, 19, of Monmouth Beach, was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery, simple assault (DP) and theft of services (DP), police said.

Sutphen was also held in Monmouth Correctional Institution in lieu of $50,000 bail, set by Judge Honora Kilgallen J.S.C.

Police responded to the July 17 incident when at 3:08 a.m. they were dispatched to the area of Church and First Street “for a report of a fight in the street,” police said.

Upon arrival, police found two men with injuries — a cab driver and Sturner. EMS was called to the scene to treat the injured. In the meantime, a witness at the scene reported that another alleged perpetrator, who turned out to be identified as Sutphen, had fled.

Sutphen was found by an assisting unit of Little Silver police in the area of 15 First Street.

The cab driver — victim — was treated at Riverview Medical Center and released.

An investigation by Patrolman Anthony Ciambrone and Detective Christopher Isherwood determined that Sutphen was the alleged perpetrator of another assault incident on July 5.

That incident was reported to have occurred after a 1:30 a.m. 9-1-1 hang-up call was made to Monmouth County dispatch, which handles area emergency calls, sending Rumson Police Patrolman Daniel Campanella and Special Officer Class II to the area  of East River Road and Carton Street, where they found a man in his vehicle having sustained severe facial injuries, Detective Christopher Isherwood said.

Further investigation by Isherwood and Campanella revealed that the victim found at the scene and another had allegedly been assaulted by Sturner at his residence.

• Kristie Lepard, 24, of Kentucky Avenue in Middletown, was arrested on June 18 by Patrolman Adam Colfer and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was released pending a court date.

• Philip Mathew, 37, of Shannon Way in Trevose, PA, was arrested on June 18 by Patrolman Thomas Hughes of the Anti-Crime Unit and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.

He was released pending a court date.

• Boby George, 36, of Laramie Road in Philadelphia, PA, was arrested on June 18 by Patrolman Thomas Hughes of the Anti-Crime Unit and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.

He was released pending a court date.

• Alexander Green, 20, of Wesley Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, was arrested on June 18 by Detective William Strohkirch and charged with burglary, theft and conspiracy.

He was held on $22,500 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

Marc Pines, 41, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 23 in the area of W. Bergen Place and charged with disorderly conduct by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Paulius Delekas, 25, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 22 in the area of Riverside Avenue and charged with simple assault by Patrolman Nicholas Maletto.

• Mary Treza, 51, of Red Bank, was arrested on June 20 in the area of Water Street and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) by Patrolman Shane Dengel.

• Gwen Daly, 34, of Fourth Street in Highlands, was arrested on April 27 by Patrolman Thomas Hughes of the Anti-Crime Unit and charged with providing false information to a police officer.

She was released pending a court date.

• Xavier Williams, 45, of Hopping Road in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on April 29 by Patrolman Scott Davis and charged with simple assault.

He was released pending a court date.

Arresting News: Heroin Possession, Vehicular Assault, DWIs, Stalking & More

• Matthew Carscadden, 35, of Windswept Road in Holmdel, was arrested on April 6 by Patrolman Thomas Foster and charged with  DWI (driving while intoxicated) and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

He was held on $5,000 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Robert Kolb, 47, of Route 36 in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, was arrested on April 7 by Cpl. James Keenan and charged with simple assault.

He was held on $2,500 bail.

• On April 7, Cpl. James Keenan arrested a 15-year-old female juvenile and charged her with obstructing the administration of law.

She was released pending a court date.

Police: Major Drug Bust, $59K Bail

The following recent arrests were reported by the Middletown police. Arrests do not constitute convictions. 

• Michael Olski, 49, of Atlantic Avenue in Middletown, was arrested on Feb. 12 by Patrolman Kent Thornton and charged with simple assault.

He was released pending a court date.

• Dennis Knapp, 44, of Highland Avenue in the Leonardo section of Middletown was arrested on Feb. 11 by Police Officer Stephanie Geisel and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, terroristic threats, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was held on $67,500 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

Police: Area Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Assault on Fair Haven Girlfriend

The following information was culled directly from police records. Arrests to not constitute convictions.

A young Highlands man, who had active warrants out of Fair Haven for his arrest, was arrested in Highlands on Oct. 29 after “an early morning incident that started in Highlands and ended in Fair Haven,” police records said.

Levi Soza, 24, allegedly threatened his Fair Haven girlfriend, violating a restraining order, according to police records. He was also charged with criminal trespass and burglary.

Soza is currently being held at Monmouth County jail in lieu of $28,000 bail, pending a Nov. 13 court date, according to police.

Fair Haven police also reported the following arrests and incidents for the month of October … 

 A River Road business owner reported an attempted break-in on Oct. 4. Sgt. Jesse Dyksta and Ptl. Koetzner responded and observed what appeared to be pry marks on an outside door. No losses were reported.

Detective Stephen Schneider is investigating.

• Douglas Denoia, 25, of Ocean, was arrested on Oct. 6 and charged with possession of a radio capable of receiving police, fire or emergency medical communications while in the commission of a crime.

Sgt. Jesse Dykstra signed the complaint.

• A Princeton Road resident reported on Oct. 9 that an unknown person had stolen a dry cleaner bag containing clothing from their front porch.

• Jeffrey Kowal Jr., 18, Red Bank, was arrested by Patrolman Eric Patton on Oct. 13 and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, following a motor vehicle stop.

Kowal was also found to have an active contempt warrant out of Middletown in the amount of $1000. He was released after posting full cash bail, pending a court appearance.

• Sergio Varela-Limon, 25, Highlands, was arrested on Oct. 15 by Patrolman William Logrotteria and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop.

• A Harrision Avenue resident reported on Oct. 15 that a girl’s bicycle was stolen from their property sometime during the previous evening.

Special Officer II Robert Henne took the report.

• Jeanne Manigrasso, 44, of Eatontown, was arrested on Oct. 29 on the charge of an active warrant out of Tinton Falls in the amount of $1000 following a motor vehicle stop.

Manigrasso was processed and released after posting full cash bail. Special Officer Brooks Robinson was the arresting officer.

• A Third Street resident reported on Oct. 30 that a savings account was opened in her name fraudulently by someone else.

The incident is being investigated by Cpl. John Waltz. No losses have been reported at this time.
