Call it a howling success of a dog day of spring. Sunday was all about some bright sunshine washing away the pandemic fear. It was also about a bit less solitude, with NJ Gov. Phil Murphy opening the state’s parks.
Temperatures soared and so did spirits as people in the Rumson-Fair Haven area reared their quarantined heads out of the darkness of the COVID-19 quarantined mood.
Despite a few reports of not-so-socially distant behavior and outright defiance to no good end, people around the towns appeared to be compliant for the most part.
One watchdog had her eyes on the banks of the Sea Bright and Rumson peninsulas from the high seas of the Shrewsbury River. She appeared to be satisfied — with the boat ride, the view and the distancing. That’s Nancy the Rumson dog. Since she didn’t have to drive the boat, she took to the spectator part of the sport, eye-eye on the shores.
Ahoy! It was smooth picturesque sailing (or motorboat) time on this dog day of spring.
Take a look. Stay safe. Stay apart, but together in your hearts. Ahhhhh, the life of a Rumson dog. This one is pretty famous at R-FH Retro. She’s a real poser.
