Calling all potential police dispatchers. That’s a 10-4 in Rumson. And a couple of officers schooled some vocational school students on the need and the criteria today.

Rumson police posted about it on social media with a photo to capture the teaching moment.
Patrolmen Donald Morse and James Camilleri visited Monmouth County Vocational School District’s Academy of Law and Public Safety (ALPS) in Long Branch, the post said. The officers did a presentation on the need for dispatchers at their PD in Rumson.
In addition to talking about the current need for dispatchers, the officers taught students about “the impact of beginning a law enforcement career as a dispatcher. Students learned of the importance of multitasking and performance under pressure as a dispatcher for a future role as a police officer.”
Now, which students want to be a dispatcher in Rumson? Raise your hands! Or report to the PD to apply. Copy that!
