In the name of the late Keith McHeffey, there are now two more grads of his Alma Mater added to the KDM Foundation’s scholarship list.
Since McHeffey, a Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) graduate known as an avid athlete and adventurer, was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the foundation created in his name has awarded 58 scholarships. That tally includes the two latest recipients: RFH’s Cami Beattie and Caden Winters, foundation board member and creator Gregg Kennedy announced on social media.
Beattie and Winters were awarded the $2,500 scholarships at the recent RFH Senior Awards Night, he added.
About the 2024 scholarship winners:
Cami Beattie
Cami will be a Rutgers University student in the fall.
She has been a member of the RFH cheer squad, the Veteran’s Club, Key Club and SGA. She was also voted Dawg Pound MVP.
Cami is also a dancer who has won multiple national competitions with her team and as a soloist. She plans to continue her dance career as a member of the Scarlet Nights Dance Team at Rutgers.
Caden Winters
Caden will become a Denison University student in the fall.
He was a varsity captain of both the RFH Football and Track & Field teams and will continue his football career at Denison.
Caden “has been praised by his team and strength coaches for his leadership and dedication both on and off the field.”
