They made a Navesink splash.
The water rescue units of the Rumson and Fair Haven First Aid squads made their inaugural water run of the season with the Nav-e-Sink or Swim race patrol out of Victory Park in Rumson today.
Rumson Fire Department’s Marine 42 unit was at the scene of the morning river swim event with members “proud to serve the Boro on Land or Sea!” a social media post said.
“A special thanks to the donors who made the Rumson marine unit possible by helping us procure boats and equipment to continue serving our residents and keeping our first responders safe!!!”
And Fair Haven had First Aid Squad crews on land and sea with its Marine 13 supporting the event with Rumson.
“Special moment every year — seeing swimmer Brian Hanlon at end of the race. Brian is the sculptor of our firefighter statue — where we will be gathered tomorrow for the FHFD Memorial Day ceremony,” a post said. “A perfect reminder of what this weekend is all about.”
Who knew? Now you do.
