The curtain is going up soon on the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Tower Players’ fall production of Nutcracker … the Musical.

The show, set to run from Nov. 22 to 24 at the high school, is a classic holiday time production featuring Tchaikovsky’s iconic music. It is reimagined by Debbie Meyer and inspired by the story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, by E.T.A. Hoffman.
The story unfolds as Marie, played by RFH’s Amalia Foster, is gifted a nutcracker from her godfather, Drosselmier, played by RFH’s Conor Quinn. As soon as Marie places the Nutcracker under the tree, he transforms into the life-sized soldier Nathan (Eliott Quinn).
The Sugar Plum Fairy, played by Mary Grace Cosgrove, appears to beacon the duo to the land of the sugar plum fairies to save them from the sinister Mouse King, Reagan Gabrow.
Will Marie successfully defeat the Mouse King and release Nathan from the curse of being a Nutcracker? It will all unfold in the production.
Behind the scenes as the creative team in this Tower Players production are: KasiAnn Sweeney, director; Anthony Pruester, assistant director; Amanda Gorfain, musical director; Donna Battaglia, choreographer; Patrick Giblin, technical director; Catherine Cleary, costume and props designer; and Sue Wankel, production coordinator.
