The warmth of spring is in full bloom. And there’s nothing like parking yourself on a sunny spot on the grass to read a book or study — or plot your next spring fever antic.
And there are those outfits to go with the season. They were a bit different way back when. While preppy fashion has pretty much remained status quo, the preppy uniform of the 1970s was, shall we say, a bit more classically plaid, bright, and usually topped off with an alligator.
So, the Retro Pic of the (George) Day pays ode to the season’s spirit and style with a flashback to RFH alum John Brinkerhoff caught by the lens of George Day stylin’ on a grassy knoll in his alligator shirt and plaid Bermuda golf shorts.
No, those aren’t topsiders John was wearing. Know what they are? Can you guess what color the shirt was? Oh, and what was for lunch in the ol’ bag there? Hmmm. Golf, lunch, studying or a prank anyone?
Thanks, once again, to George Day for this snapshot frozen in time!
