It’s still all about football at RFH and the winning streak for the Dawgs.

On the heels of RFH’s undefeated streak of 13-0 and latest state finals win (26-24 against Shabazz) that made them state champs, we take you back to a typical home game. The pics feature the RFH champ spirit that has endured decades — nearly half a century, in this case.

The Retro Pic(s) of the Day bring us back to playing the field in a game at RFH in 1975.

The Bulldogs, not for many years later referred to as Dawgs, finished that season with a 5-3-1 record “against some very strong shore teams,” according to the 1976 RFH Yearbook.

Captains were Mike Gilhool, Chip Kelly and Geoff Zipf. (Yes, that’s Clean Ocean Action Executive Director Cindy Zipf’s brother.) These guys were the classic cool student-athletes of the era.

How about the coaches? Do you know who is pictured punting? It was his specialty. Hint: His stepmother just recently moved from Fair Haven after many, many years; and, his brother’s name is Jeff.
