There’s nothing more groovy than six cool RFH girls chillin’ on a couch in the 70s.
OK, so maybe the scene is really just a step above couch potato status; but, a shoulder-to-shoulder pow wow of sorts with this crew always had some definite cool times potential. Five Fair Haven- and one Rumson-raised in with the “in crowd” girls together made for at least a misadventure in the making.
Knowing them, we know this get-together had nothing to do with studying. We’re thinking the widest grin on the couch gets credit for what was cooking among friends that day. Most seem to be looking to Laurie (to the left) for the nod on what comes next. It’s anyone’s guess.
We’re betting on the photobombing bust of whoever in the back somehow being involved in the second step toward percolating mayhem. Then again, we could be wrong. They, including the bust of whoever, may just be settling in for some quiet bonding time over an episode of The Partridge Family. Wait. That’s our cool chillin’ dream. But it would have to be a watch party for the episode of Laurie Partridge tuning into music with her braces.
There must be some background music involved in this chill scene. Bets on the song or group on the fancy ol’ vinyl playing stereo? Bruce? Meatloaf? Coolest shirt in the group? Well, that’d have to be Kate Hamilton with her alligator rugby — hip and happening in the 70s at RFH. Bets are that she was wearing topsiders or duck boots.
Coolest times in RFHers’ living rooms? Hmmmm … All it ever took was one group of sofa loafers to get the cool ball rolling.
