Fall is in the air. The weather is forecasted to be quite fine for the weekend, and there’s plenty going on.
It all starts Friday night with …
• A Halloween party at the Knights of Columbus on Fair Haven Road in Fair Haven from 8 p.m. to midnight. There will be music, costume prizes and giveaways. Admission is $10 and the Knights ask that you bring a canned food donation for the food bank.
And on Saturday …
• Don’t forget that if you’d like to honor the memory of former longtime Fair Havenite Evelyn Murphy, her service will be held at the Church of the Nativity on Hance Road at 11 a.m.
• Then, after being rained out twice, at noon the third time charm of Trucktoberfest will become a reality at Fair Haven Fields.
There will be food trucks aplenty, games, hayrides (from 1:30 to 6 p.m.), drinks and bands.
The new band schedule is as follows:
Mike Duffy Band – noon
Pat Roddy Band – 2:30
The Haven – 4:30

• Also on the Fair Haven Fields grounds on Saturday, the Halloween Egg Hunt, which was also postponed again, will take place.
• Sea Bright will hold its annual trunk or treat (car to decorated car for candy) event in the municipal parking lot at 4 p.m. It will be followed by the Halloween parade at 6 p.m. which runs south down Ocean Avenue from the Rumson/Sea Bright Bridge.
And on Sunday …
• The Rumson Halloween Parade and festivities will be held at Forrestdale School from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and include games, carnival booths, a costume contest, hot dogs and lemonade.
