An area DWI checkpoint will be set to run from late Friday evening to early Saturday morning.
The checkpoint, which, starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, will funnel drivers in Shrewsbury from the southbound lanes of Route 35 into the Shrewsbury Plaza parking lot, will run through Saturday morning at 2 a.m., Monmouth County DWI Task Force coordinator and Brielle Police Chief Michael W. Palmer said.
Once in the parking lot, drivers will be checked for sobriety — signs of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol — by task force members and Shrewsbury police.
