In Memoriam: Shrewsbury Resident, Original Friendly Sons of St. Patrick Member, Peter Morley, 86

Shrewsbury resident Peter Morley passed away peacefully on Oct. 10 near his home. He was 86.

“In the community, he was: an original member, and later president, of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick of the Jersey Shore, a member and past president of Beacon Hill Country Club, and a founder, and later chairman, of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation of New Jersey.

“During the height of COVID, he made meal runs from local restaurants to Riverview Hospital so tired staff had something different to eat. He was an accomplished academician — left back in the fourth grade, attending night school for his high school diploma — yet he could charm the birds out of a tree. Later he wrote a book about the misadventures of his family and friends growing up in Yonkers, Morley’s Musings, available on Amazon for $9.99!”
