Middletown resident and former longtime Rumsonite and member of the Rumson Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary, Pamela Helen Shay, passed away on Jan, 22 at Riverview Medical Center. She was 80.
Born to Maurice and Margaret Milliken Bishop on March 16, 1941 in Glen Ridge, NJ, Pamela, in her younger years, enjoyed the outdoors and activities such as camping, summers on the beach and snowmobiling in the winters.
Pamela was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice and Margaret Bishop; and her husband of 35 years, Robert J. Shay.
She is survived by: her two children, Lisa Mowery, of Middletown, and Robert Shay and his wife Yvette, of Tampa, FL; her sister, Deborah Bornstein, of Ocean Township; nieces, Pam, Jill, Jen and Niff; nephew, Chuck; and grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle, Sadie and Ryan.
A memorial gathering is set for 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A service at the funeral home will take place at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pamela’s memory to The Rumson Fire Department or the American Lung Association.
