Longtime Little Silver resident and former Rumson Country Day School (RCDS) Board of Trustees president, Charles Hill Jones Jr., also of Palm Beach, FL, died on Sept. 28. He was 89.
During a career in financial services, he was Director of Research at Wood, Struthers & Winthrop, Chief Investment Officer at Midlantic National Bank, Chairman & President of NJ Title Insurance, and President of Edge Partners. Ltd. He was a member of the CFA Institute and a recipient of the Marquis Who’s Who Honors: Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
He is survived by: his wife, Hope (Haskell); and his children, Hope H., of Edgartown, MA, Charles H. III (Shea), of Rumson, and Henry M. T. (Parker), of Atlanta, GA.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Funeral services will be held at St. George’s-By-The River Church in Rumson at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers donations to the Charles Hill Jones Sr. & Jr. House Maintenance Fund, UVA Alumni Association, 211 Emmet Street South, Charlottesville, VA 22903 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
