Longtime Fair Havenite, Flossy Nicol, passed away on Sept. 4. She was 89.
Born in Brooklyn in 1934, she moved to Fair Haven in time to start a three-generation legacy at Red Bank Catholic High School. “Flossy found the love of her life in Charlie at an RBC football game and the rest is history.”
Flossy is predeceased by: her parents, Florence and Harry Stanley; her brother, Harry Stanley; and her sister, Dolores Freely.
She is survived by: her husband, Charles J. Nicol; children, Florence and Norman Sommer, Jeanne and Frederick Fable, Charles Nicol, and Thomas Nicol; her grandchildren, Christopher Fable and James Casa, Crystal Warhurst, Amber and Marc Wolfson, Erika and Eric Fonseca, Charles and Alicia Nicol, David and Jaclyn Sommer, Ryan Nicol, Nicolette and Ryan Casey, Daniel Sommer, Deirdre Nicol, and Jessica Sommer; and her great-grandchildren, Daunte, Riley, Colin, Hunter, Vincent, Aden, and Maya.
In lieu of flowers, the Nicol family would like donations be made in Flossy’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Donations can be made by clicking the link to St. Jude’s website below or they can be mailed to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
