Former longtime Little Silver resident, Ruth Sihler, more recently of Tinton Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27. She was 98.
Ruth married the love of her life, Henry E. Sihler, on July 1, 1951. They settled in Little Silver to start their family and raised their two children, Steven and Teresa. The family lived in Little Silver for 50 years.
Ruth was predeceased by: her beloved husband, Henry, in 2002; her cherished daughter, Teresa E. Axe; and her three siblings, J. Robert Scott, Joseph L. Scott and Doris White.
Ruth is survived by: her devoted son, Steven M. Sihler of Neptune; her loving son-in-law, Geoffrey Axe, of Newtown, PA; her cherished granddaughters, Jennifer Axe and Rebecca Rosa and husband Abad; and her precious great-granddaughter, Emily Rosa.
Family and friends may visit Thursday, June 6, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 7, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial at Fair View Cemetery in Middletown.
